A delicious hometown bakery with all the right style and flavor. This is the second and now main location. Warrenton has the original site. The bakery is spacious and staff is warm and welcoming. The baked goods are tasty to the last crumb. The coffee is the best around; black without fixings has a great flavor profile without heavy acid (bitterness). Try the granola at least once. It is heaven. Usually have breakfast sandwiches for the morning then a simple lunch fare. Always a nice compliment of baked goods that are rotated to keep a great variety. Check this place out, you will be back.

It was dinner time when I stopped by and it was fairly quiet on a Thursday. The fresh quiche with country ham was delicious and their coffee tastes like gourmet coffee shop speciality coffee The pound cakes looked amazing and I plan to try one next chance I have to visit . I got a few muffins to take home and they were very good variations on traditional flavors in a consistency that i consider perfect, not too dense and not too light but with just enough noistness and a little on the dense side without being heavy. I give extra points for the very friendly staff in traditional dress abd the charm of the place itself as an old school bakery of days gone by. This place is just a fee minutes off I-66 and a short trip from the crowded suburbs of Washington DC.

Staff is super nice! You can call ahead in the morning and ask them to hold cakes or sandwiches for you. Great seating area and bathrooms are available. They serve coffee (stumptown) and sell other products and foods in the shop. Parking is available right behind the shop.

Delicious flaky spinach and feta croissant. I got it to go in Marshall. Not only did they not ask if I wanted it heated, they just didn't do it. Handed it to me in a bag and it was not only not heated, it was cold. It would have been amazing if they heated it up with gooey, melted cheese, but no. And the price of a cup of hot tea, over the top. Especially when the honey dispenser was broken. So good, but missed the mark.

If you're looking for order flexibility, don't look here. Have ordered my holiday pies here for last four years. This year I ordered an apple pie, then the menu changed and I needed a pumpkin pie. No substitutions, but they were happy to sell me a pumpkin pie in addition to the apple pie. Explanation: substitutions upset our holiday logistics. Real explanation: we want to sell more pies. Was another customer not getting a pumpkin pie? No, they made extra. Could they have sold the apple pie? Maybe. Could they have lost the value of the ingredients and labor in making the pie if it didn't sell? Maybe. Did they lose a customer? Definitely.
